But as he prepares for the second Major of the season, he revealed it was an awkward moment at home that sparked his back injury earlier in the year.

It was first reported that he contracted the problem during a practice round, which forced him to withdraw from a tournament in Saudi Arabia in February.

But when asked how he solved the problem, Johnson said, “I just pulled a muscle … in my lower back.”

But the former world number one golf star seemed a bit suspicious and the reporter pressed him for more details, replying: “Swing a club? Pick up a bat?”

Johnson smiled and added, “No.

“Raising a child… a bigger child.”

That caused a roar of laughter in the press room as the journalist confirmed, “I’m done.”

Johnson married Paulina – the daughter of hockey legend Wayne Gretzky – last April at Blackberry Farm Resort in Tennessee, nine years after the couple became engaged.

But while Johnson upset many golf fans by accepting the Saudis’ £100m offer and moving to the LIV Tour.

However, his stunning wife regularly keeps her 1.1 million Instagram followers happy with a series of racy snaps.

And Paulina will no doubt steal the show again this week as she cheers for her man at the PGA.

DJ is among the favorites for the title after showing early signs of his top form and winning his second LIV event.
