Dwyane Wade details trying to end relationship with Gabrielle Union before admitting he had a baby with another woman

Dwyane Wade talks about a difficult time in his relationship with Gabrielle Union.
During one Interview with Shannon Sharpe On Wednesday, the retired NBA player looked back on the couple’s 2013 split, during which he fathered a child with another woman.
Wade revealed that he “tried to break up with his now wife” instead of telling her the truth, telling Sharpe that he “tried to get around it.”
He said he tried to think of “everything possible” to tell her to avoid being open, even at times citing their relationship problems as a buffer, telling the actress, “Hey, things were “It’s been bad lately.”…We had a certain distance in our relationship anyway.’”

But it didn’t work as Wade, 41, revealed that Union kept showing up for the Miami Heat player, which led him to eventually tell her about conceiving son Xavier, now 9 Basketball women Star Aja Metoyer.
Wade shared that he told Union, 50, before the news broke that he “wouldn’t have gotten through this moment” without his wife’s support.
“We were in the playoffs, I think getting to the finals… that was a tough time for me,” Wade recalled. “You have a lot on your mind. You’re hiding something from the people you love. That is hard.”
He added: “At night, when it’s caught and it’s just you and your thoughts, those thoughts are loud.”

Ultimately, Wade said, while their relationship wasn’t perfect and never will be, they’ve come a long way since that incident nine years ago, and he credits therapy in part for strengthening their bond.
“We go to therapy, we went to therapy. We talked about it loudly. We talked about it regularly,” Wade explained. “And it’s something I have to work and work on.”
Xavier was born in November 2013, joining Wade’s two eldest children – Zaire, 21, and Zaya, 16 – as well as his ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches.

The interview is not the first time Wade has discussed the incident. He had previously spoken out about the scandal in the documentary. D. Wade: Life unexpected in which he shared that the secret was eating him alive.
“I could not sleep. I didn’t eat anything,” the former point guard said in the document. “If you have this information and you know it’s going to ruin the life of someone you care about, someone you love, and it doesn’t hurt you, then you’re not human.”
