EastEnders favorite Shona McGarty lands a singing gig – at her soap pal’s wedding

FRESH after announcing she was leaving EastEnders, Shona McGarty has made a singing appearance. . . at her soap star pal’s wedding.

Emmerdale actress Amy Walsh tied the knot with Shona’s former co-star Toby Alexaner-Smith at a luxury Ceremony in Montenegro earlier this month.

And Shona – who stunned audiences with her singing talent during Children In Need’s performances – sang her tunes at the star-studded bash.

Guests included Amy’s sister, former Girls Aloud singer Kimberley and bandmate Nicola Roberts, as well as co-stars of the ITV soap

A source said: “It was a beautiful, intimate affair with lots of singing and dancing.

“Shona met Toby when she was working with him on EastEnders and they stayed in touch.

“She was delighted when the couple asked her to perform at their wedding and was only too happy to take some time off from filming to attend the wedding reception. It was a really special day.”

First up was Amy, who plays Tracy Metcalfe in the ITV soap dating Toby, who appeared as Gray Atkins in Albert Square in 2019, and they now have a one-year-old daughter, Bonnie.

Ironically, Amy’s character got married on this soap Summer to.

She said: “I had just picked out my own wedding dress two weeks ago.

“Then I went back to the wedding shop to choose another one.

“I looked at the dresses and said, ‘I don’t want to see one that I like better than mine’.”

“But you will definitely want to choose one Suits your form, so it’s a fun one.”
