Jake told his followers: “51 not out!!! The best advice I can give so far? Don’t let the idiots get you down.”

His fans rushed to comment, with one writing: “Wish I could look this young at 51 👏🏿 Happy Birthday.”

And his famous friends also sent congratulations – including his Strictly partner Janette Manrara, who posted: “Happy Birthday Shakey Jakey!!”

Jake’s EastEnders co-star Emma Barton remarked: “Happy birthday lovely.”

The star recently starred alongside Cheryl in 2:22 Ghost Story and has been good friends with her ever since.

Jake has been a longtime face on Albert Square since debuting on the show in 2006, but left early last year.

In Max’s last major story arc, he came into contact with Linda Carter, which led to a violent confrontation with her husband Mick.

Max fathered a child with Linda whom he has not yet met.

Speaking about returning last year, Jake, who is also an artist now, said, “Right now I don’t have any plans to do it, but you never say never.”

“They held the door open for me – apparently I have a little baby that I haven’t seen yet. You never know.”
