Ebro Darden tells rappers to ‘stop being boring!!’

Ebro Darden took to social media to deliver a harsh message to rappers and their record labels: stop being boring!

“I got a call saying… “It should be noted that many major record labels have given lower priority to signing rappers.” The focus is now on African music and Latin American music. Rappers better stop being boring and keep talking about the same shit chasing the success of TikTok and the comment sections,” he tweeted.

Fans approved the tweet in the comments section.

“Maybe it’s about time someone else had a moment. We have been at the forefront of culture between rap and jazz for 30-60 years. Maybe rappers need time to create something new, but they can’t do that when the labels and radio are focused on pushing just one style. BAs need time to develop something new,” wrote one follower.

Another added, “I’m waiting for you and other hip-hop media to take responsibility for your role in its demise.” Artists aren’t the only ones to blame. You “gatekeepers” have opened the floodgates for social media personalities to pollute it. Artists who tried to speak out were labeled bitter.”

Is Ebro right?
