Ego Nwodim and Heidi Gardner Live Their Caribbean Dreams

Miles Teller took place to host the season 48 premiere of Saturday night live and with that came hilarious skits from Teller and great musical performances from guests Kendrick Lamar. It also meant we got a pretty funny eleventh hour skit that was weird enough that it worked to end the night on just the right note. After all, who wouldn’t want to watch a show of two older women flirting with men on their own talk show?

Have you ever wished you could give up your life and move to the Caribbean? That happens when I Nwodim‘s Trinity Summers and Heidi Gaertner‘s Desire Wingo move there and host “Caribbean Queens,” a show they put on at the bar of the resort they’re staying at. They’ve been there for five months and they love their life meeting hot guys and celebrating their one night stands.

plate along with Kenan Thompson are playing their dates from the night before and in daylight they might react differently than the ladies who are ready to flirt and dance on them anyway. The sketch had the feel of others Saturday night live sketches in the past.

Trinity and Desire remind me of Jodi and Betty (played by Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph), these were two ladies from the Bronx with their own talk show. And I love it so much I hope that we will continue to see “Caribbean Queens” and their escapades in the Caribbean. Did Gardner and Nwodim have to talk about whether or not their boys “feel” their dance moves? I didn’t think I would, and yet it’s all I can think about now.

It falls into that perfect kind of sweet spot Saturday night live sketches. Once we hit the eleventh hour of the show, we land on some fun sketches that they clearly didn’t think would work in the early hours of the show. And they’re almost always just chaos, which works best with the cast. They have fun and give us plates with old man’s wig and Hawaiian shirt.

It would be nice to see “Caribbean Queens” come back if they have a fun guest ready to dance to Nwodim and Gardner, but also if this becomes a running piece every time they get Teller to come back and to host? That would be the good thing. Ego Nwodim and Heidi Gardner Live Their Caribbean Dreams
