El Camino Real closes field because of defective turf

Amid growing complaints that portions of their all-weather turf field were melting and ending up catching on shoes, El Camino Real High School has closed the field to all contact sports and will be replacing it with a new field, according to Brad Wright. the school board.

All home football and soccer games will be relocated to street games or another facility until the field is replaced by the Los Angeles Unified School District. This is the second time El Camino Real have had problems with melting turf material after being replaced in 2010.

This is the latest defective all-weather turf field paid for by LAUSD. Fremont has also closed its field this season. Crenshaw faced similar issues with his division last year.
