Elon Musk steps down as Twitter CEO

Elon Musk says he will acknowledge the result of his Twitter poll after fans voted for his resignation from the position.

“I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone stupid enough to take the job! After that, I will just lead the software and server teams,” he tweeted on Tuesday.

More than 17 million users had voted – 57.5% of pollsters said Musk should resign. He later suggested that future Twitter polls could be limited to paying Twitter Blue users.

Earlier this month, Elon made headlines after admitting he wanted to hit Kanye West following the rapper’s anti-Semitic remarks last month.

“At some point you have to say what incitement to violence is because it’s against the law in the US,” Musk said. “Placing swastikas in a way that is obviously not good is an incitement to violence.”

He added: “I wanted to hit Kanye personally, that definitely incited me to violence. That’s not cool.”
