We have some big news about Emily in Paris Season 4 to share with fans of the Netflix original series, and most of it isn’t the good kind.
Emily in Paris Season 3 premiered back in December 2022 and we are fortunate to do so Emily in Paris Season 4 will follow later this year or next.
The series received a two-season renewal for seasons 3 and 4 in January 2022, not long after the second season premiered on Netflix in December 2021. While the series wasn’t particularly popular with critics, it was with fans the romantic comedy The Fall was a huge success.

Season 4 of Emily in Paris is likely to be delayed
Emily in Paris Season 4 is set to begin in early fall, according to a report from diversity, but that start date is now in jeopardy as the WGA strike continues throughout the summer and the SAG strike begins in July. Production was supposed to start in the summer of 2023 but was pushed back to October. Now, Variety is reporting that it’s likely to be pushed back even further.
To make matters worse, the studio where Emily in Paris season 4 will be filmed, Cité du Cinema, is booked for the Olympics, which begins in December 2023 and ends in October 2024. Oops!
Is Emily in Paris season 4 set in Rome?
Yes, at least partially. During TUDUM 2023, Netflix confirmed that Emily and the team are heading to Rome for a vacation Emily in Paris Season 4. What is currently unclear is how much of the season will be set in Rome and how much in Paris. Maybe they don’t even know.
Emily in Paris Season 4 was delayed by the writers’ strike in May after Netflix and AMPTP failed to give the WGA what they were looking for. Now the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) is on strike in July 2023. If this strike ends before October, that’s possible Emily in Paris Season 4 could be filmed in Paris a few months before December. Then they could go to Rome to finish the production.
But a lot of things are in flux right now and it’s impossible to know how things will play out when it’s all over. However, what we do know is that Emily in Paris Season 4 isn’t coming to Netflix in December 2023 as fans had hoped.

- In May 2023, Darren Star, the creator and showrunner of emily in paris, therefore did not attend the FYC event of the series TheWrap. No response, but Star is a member of the WGA, which is on strike.
- There were rumors and even some reports about it Emily in Paris Season 4 was filmed after Season 3 in the summer of 2022, but it’s unclear if that actually happened. In fact, based on how Lily Collins has spoken about Season 4 and what she has said so far, it seems likely that it didn’t happen.

When is Emily in Paris Season 4 filming?
On June 6th diversity reported that Emily in Paris Season 4 had been officially postponed due to the writers’ strike. Season 4 began filming in Paris in late summer or early fall, but has been tentatively pushed back two months to late fall 2023. Of course, the delay could be longer depending on how long the strike lasts.
According to Variety, production is set to begin in Paris in October, but it’s possible that the WGA and SAG strikes will affect and further delay that. We’ll just have to wait and see.
Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, who plays Sylvie, previously spoke to Variety at the end of May and indicated that the coming season had been affected by the strike. At this point, we already knew that May’s fourth season wasn’t in production, as Lily Collins and Ashley Park attended the Met Gala. Our annual Christmas with Emily will not take place in 2023.
So far we believed in production Emily in Paris Season 4 could have started in the summer of 2023 as indicated by this tweet from writer Joshua Levy. The writer shared a note from the Netflix team about the start of work on the Season 4 writer’s room. This means that the writers are hard at work finalizing the scripts and filming should start soon.
Filming began in June 2022 Emily in Paris Season 3 and judging by the filming time for Season 2 the previous year, we assumed that filming would end at the end of the summer. However, the series remained in production.
In September 2022, diversity reported The Emily in Paris Season 3 and Emily in Paris Season 4 was filmed back-to-back, although that report was ultimately untrue. Further details on the fourth season’s production plan, such as a schedule, have not been released.

Has Netflix announced the release date of Season 4 of Emily in Paris yet?
No, we don’t know when to expect that Emily in Paris Season 4 not yet. We were really hoping it would be December 2023, a year after Season 3 premiered on Netflix. Unfortunately, that won’t happen as filming is being delayed due to the WGA and SAG strikes.
The first season of Emily in Paris was released in October 2020 and the second and third seasons were released in December of the following two years. We assumed Season 4 would follow suit and also be released in late 2023, before news of the production delay due to the writers’ strike broke.
As already mentioned, it depends on what is happening Emily in Paris Production of the fourth season and the writers’ strike. Now that production has been officially delayed by the writers’ strike and the actors’ strike, which is also affecting the television industry, let’s look at the fourth season of Emily in Paris will be postponed to 2024 but we’ll just have to wait and see and how long we’ll wait until the end of next year for the season to end.

Paul Forman plays Mindy’s new love interest, Nicolas de Léon, and Melia Kreiling plays Camille’s love interest, Sofia. Kevin Dias returns as Benoît and Kate Walsh reprises her role as Emily’s American boss, Madeline Wheeler. Walsh’s storyline concluded in Season 3, although she could always return to add some drama. Is Emily in Paris season 4 the final season?
Netflix didn’t state that Emily in Paris Season 4 will be the final season. However, if any fans were weary of the two-season extension filmed back-to-back, that’s understandable. In some cases, that could mean the “final season.”
But many other Netflix original series were renewed for two seasons or did back-to-back seasons and continued to thrive. Virgin River And heart stopper are two recent Netflix shows that have received orders for two seasons, both Emily, are hits.

In the final moments of season three, Camille leaves Gabriel at the altar and reveals the pact she and Emily made. Suddenly, Emily and Gabriel’s feelings for each other, which they keep avoiding, surface. Alfie also abandons Emily because she doesn’t want to be her second choice.
When Emily and Gabriel are honest about their feelings for each other after the wedding, Gabriel hits Emily with the bombshell that Camille is pregnant. Emily in Paris Season 4 will surely navigate the conflicts that arise from the newly complicated dynamic between Emily, Gabriel and Camille.

How many seasons of Emily in Paris are there?
So far, only three seasons of the series are available to stream. We know that season four is written and can begin filming once the AMPTP strikes a deal with the writers’ and actors’ unions.
Officially, four seasons are in the works. As mentioned, it doesn’t look like Season 4 will be the final season, especially given the Roman Holiday teasers at TUDUM 2023. We’ve got to see the end of the show in Paris, right?
We think Emily in Paris Season 5 will take place, but we’re awaiting official news from Netflix.
