Emma Myers opens up about her love life on Wednesday

By now, virtually everyone who watches TV has seen, or at least heard about, Netflix’s hugely successful new series Wednesdaybased on the popular and iconic Addams Family franchise, specifically the character Wednesday Addams. Scream Star Jenna Ortega plays the title role and has received critical acclaim for her performance, even earning a Golden Globe nomination.

But it’s not just Ortega that makes the show interesting, it’s accompanied by an excellent cast that includes Gwendoline Christie, Fred Armisen, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán and more. The teen actors are just as great, with special attention given to Wednesday’s roommate and later best friend of Nevermore Academy, werewolf Enid Sinclair.

Given the “opposites attract” relationship between Wednesday and Enid, it’s not surprising that fans have romantically linked the two characters. The ship is known online as the “Wenclair,” and there are hundreds of edits, fan fiction pieces, and more featuring the pair.

Ortega and Myers have previously hinted at their support for the ship, but remain coy about whether or not it will ever actually happen. In the first season of Wednesday, Wednesday was in a love triangle with Percy Hynes White’s character Xavier and Hunter Doohan’s Tyler. Could there be room for Wenclair? Wednesday Season 2?

Emma Myers thinks Wednesday in Season 2 needs to be single

After everything Wednesday went through in Season 1, Myers tells Variety that she feels Wednesday “needs to take her season of being single.” I am inclined to agree. As much as I enjoyed it Wednesday Season 1, I was really disappointed with the love triangle subplot. It didn’t feel faithful to Wednesday’s character and dragged the whole show down. I’d much rather see Wednesday stay single for a while, but I wouldn’t mind if she got a female love interest at some point.

Myers continued, adding: “[Wednesday] just had a whole fiasco with her husbands, she has to let it go for a while. I would be put off from dating anyone if I went through that.”

Emma Myers says of Wenclair: ‘Anything is possible’

While the Enid actress thinks Wednesday needs to stay single for a while, she also notes that “anything goes” when it comes to Enid and Wednesday’s potential romantic future.

Don’t expect Myers to spill anything in the upcoming season though, she says she’s been kept in the dark and has no idea what’s in store for her character or the rest of the cast.

“We haven’t really talked about direction at all, so I don’t really know what the game plan is for anything,” Myers tells the outlet.

Wednesday now streaming on Netflix. Stay tuned to Netflix Life for more updates Wednesday Season 2.
