EMMERDALE star Jeff Hordley was crushed by a super fan of the soap in an official online quiz.
The ITV actor is best known for playing Cain Dingle on the long-running soap.
Jeff, 53, first joined the Dales in March 2000 and although he was released in 2006, he returned in dramatic fashion three years later.
It’s safe to say that given the length of time he’s spent on the soap, his knowledge would be quite extensive.
Other than when he was challenged to a behind-the-scenes game for Emmerdale’s social media account, things didn’t quite go to plan.
The star was sent to a table behind the scenes at the Yorkshire-based series drama.
He sat down on a high stool and read the card that was set out for him: “Time to put your Emmerdale knowledge to the test, your general knowledge.”
“You compete against the Emmerdale Expert, you both get five questions each and whoever gets the most correct answers wins.”
When he finished reading the playing card, he declared, “I like a challenge, get the expert!”
Archivist Tom Parfitt then made his way to the set, where Jeff was anxiously awaiting his competition.
While Tom got all five questions correct, Jeff only got two questions right, which he called “not bad.”
However, fans continued to offer the actor support as they flooded the comments section with praise despite his seemingly poor performance.
One fan wrote: “Oh I had the privilege of meeting Jeff on a train a few months ago and I can safely say he truly is the kindest, loveliest person ever! 🥺💙.”
A second fan exclaimed, “I’m just watching for him 🥰🥰.”
“I LOVE JEFF ❤️,” wrote a third.
And a fourth user joked: “Emmerdale’s version of who wants to be a millionaire with no money 😂😂.”
