‘Emmerdale’ star Joe-Warren Plant reveals his mother’s tragic death and pays heartbreaking tribute

EMMERDALE star Joe-Warren Plant has revealed his mother tragically died last year.

This comes after the actor, who plays Jacob Gallagher in the long-running soap, took a six-month break from Emmerdale and returned in December.

Joe, 21, told how his mother died last November at the age of 47 following liver complications.

Speaking for the first time about his devastating loss in an interview, the star said: “Mom was so supportive and such an amazing person. I miss her a lot.”

His character was first introduced in the village in 2010 and has had to face difficult situations ever since.

He said of working on the ITV soap: “I’m happy here and see myself here for the foreseeable future.”

“I never thought I would get to this point and I really want to reiterate how grateful I am.”

“Sometimes when I look at pictures of myself over the years I just think, ‘Wow, I’ve been here for 13 years.’ It’s crazy, but it’s so much fun.”

Joe moved in with his mother in 2021 during his time on Dancing On Ice after splitting from his then-girlfriend.

He has now bought a house with his girlfriend Anna Norton.

He added Mirror: “We have a completely normal relationship. She’s not in business. We are happy.”

Joe is a big brother to Harley, 18, and Natalia, 15, and added: “I like being an older brother and I see my sister as a little girl that I want to protect, even if she’s next year will do her GCSE.” !”
