Emu in Brockton MA: Odd police chase turns heads after Emu bird escapes enclosure, caught on camera wandering through town

BROCKTON, MA– A strange police chase caused a stir in Massachusetts this week.

An emu escaped from its enclosure in New England and fled across town.

Surveillance cameras spotted the large, flightless bird named Mallory migrating through a Boston suburban intersection.

Mallory’s owner, Lee Flaherty, believes she was startled by a wild animal, jumped a 6-foot fence and fled.

“She was scared,” Flaherty said.

With the help of the police, they finally captured Mallory and brought her back to her pen. Apart from a minor abrasion to his leg, Mallory was unharmed.
