EuroBasket 2022 – Scores, schedules, teams, news and updates

EuroBasket is back!

After a five-year hiatus, EuroBasket 2022 will crown a continental champion from a field of 24 nations, led by some of the NBA’s biggest stars. The tournament kicks off on Thursday with group stage matches played in four host nations and the gold medal match will be played in Berlin on September 18. You can follow every EuroBasket 2022 game from group stage to final on ESPN+.

The tournament was previously held every two years, but has been moved to a four-year cycle starting with the 2017 tournament. Postponing the Tokyo Olympics to 2021 forced that tournament to 2022, marking the longest span of time between EuroBasket events since World War II.

Slovenia, led by Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic and EuroBasket 2017 MVP Goran Dragic, enter the tournament as the defending champions. However, it will be heavily challenged by a Serbian team led by two-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic. Other top contenders include Greece, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo and his brothers Thanasis and Kostas, and a French team featuring three-time Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert – but without No. 1 overall winner Victor Wembanyama scheduled for 2023.
