The Cannes Film Festival is in full swing, so you know, we’ve got our eyes on the French Riviera’s hottest red carpet. Tuesday, May 17 was a day in a two-week love affair, and we liked what we saw, wise beauty. Eva Longoria was ready for opening night, clad in a sheer, floor-length Alberta Ferretti gown, sprinkled with strategically placed foam beads and beads. Equal parts are soft and sharp, like the Longoria team jacket that teamed it with.
The dress was heavily eye-makeup and the actor’s artist applied a black lip liner and a hint of smoked tobacco on her lower lashes. The rest of her face was covered in blush makeup, with her nude pink lips and brown primer matching.
However, what we love the most is this haircut. It’s a master at enhancing a textured ponytail for the red carpet. Aside from that, it has some elements of the modern honeycomb look that we’ve seen everywhere – this has only to do with the ponytail. The key to this style is the size and location of that honeycomb bump: It’s just a little more subtle, a flash trade and you’ll miss out. A baby hive, if you will. A little more volume at the top of her head enhances the overall look, making it red carpet ready (as opposed to hot yoga). And can we get into the curtain-like tassels that surround Longoria’s face? Sparkling.
