Exact length of time couples would need to have sex to burn off calories from Brits’ favourite meals revealed

LOVERS can burn off the calories from fish and chips through sex — but research says it would take them nearly two hours to do it.
Couples burn an average of 162 calories per 10 minutes in the sack, sarcasm experts say.
A serving of cod and chips has 861 calories – so 1,722 calories for two – meaning it would take both of them an hour and 46 minutes of making love to use it up energy.
For those scoffing at a Sunday roast that can be over 1,000kcal a piece, it might take even longer.
Isaac Robertson of fitness website Total Shape said, “It’s important to note that the number of calories burned during sex varies greatly from session to session.”
“Different positions and how fast you go can change the number burned.”
Half of Britons say they have sex once a week on average.
But it rarely lasts long enough to burn off a fatty dinner — most say anything over 30 minutes is “too long.”
Mr Robertson added: “If you’re looking to maximize calorie burn during sex, eating a healthy diet and taking vitamins can help you last longer.”
