THE family of a father killed in a horrific accident have paid a heartbreaking tribute to the sports enthusiast.
John Carswell, 47, was driving a gray Porsche 911 Carrera on the B954 in Perth when tragedy struck last weekend.
Officers sped to the crime scene between Alyth and Meigle around 5 p.m. Saturday night.
Emergency services were present but John, who had a passion for classic cars, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family released a statement through Police Scotland thanking people for the support they have received during this tragic time.
They said: “We would like to express our gratitude for the overwhelming support we have received in the days following the tragedy.
“John was a well-known businessman in Arbroath.
“Outside of work he was an accomplished cyclist, boating was also an avid pursuit, as was scuba diving.
“In later years he took up kayaking and toured many of Scotland’s lochs and rivers with family and friends.
“Driving was another great passion and he enjoyed restoring a number of classic cars.
“He is survived by his parents, John and Liz, sister Tracey, brother Stuart and his two young daughters Isla and Rowan.
“He was also a devoted uncle to Adam and Baillie, Nieve and Charlotte.”
Sergeant David Farr added: “Our thoughts are with John’s family and friends at this very distressing time.
“Officials have been investigating to determine the full circumstances surrounding the crash and I would like to thank everyone for their help in answering our earlier appeal.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on number 101 quoting incident 2602 of 29 April 2023.”
Previously, honors were given to John after the tragic accident.
