TV favorite Stelling announced his resignation the popular show last month.

The 68-year-old has been in the hot seat for 25 years.

And Stelling’s final show is coming along on May 28th Adam Smith in pole position for takeover.

One of the highlights of any football Saturday was his brilliant reaction to favorite team Hartlepool.

The League Two team has already been relegated to the National League.

But they gave Stelling one last cheer as they scored a goal in a 1-1 draw at promotion chasers Stockport.

The pundit danced excitedly in his seat as he celebrated what turned out to be Hartlepool’s final goal in their final game of the season.

And heartbroken fans asked Stelling to make a U-turn on his decision to quit football on Saturday.

One said: “Please don’t go Jeff.”

Another declared: “Shame he’s leaving.”

One remarked: “A late winner had to be celebrated again.”

Fans are now eagerly awaiting Sky to announce Stelling’s replacement, with Smith currently the favourite.

But Co-host Julian Warren should also be in the mix.
