Fantasy women’s basketball – Candace Parker makes history

Who’s trending in fantasy women’s basketball? Which rotations are changing? What’s the latest with the notable injuries surrounding the WNBA?

Here’s a look inside the league with the most fantasy-related news and notes for all 12 teams.

blankAtlanta dream

Available in 64.2% of leagues, Aari McDonald is one of the few viable streaming options on a dream team that ranks last in offense (94.3). She has averaged 19.4 fantasy points over the past five games. Don’t overlook McDonald if you need to add a player or fill a roster spot on a specific day.

Chicago sky

On Tuesday night against The Dream, Candace Parker, at 36 years and 84 days, became the oldest player to score 30 points and accumulate 10 rebounds in a game in WNBA history. It was her 11th career game with 30 points and 10 rebounds, which is the third most in league history behind Tina Charles (15) and Lauren Jackson (13). For the season, Parker ranks 10th in fantasy points.

Connecticut sun

With an offensive rating of 104.0 and a defensive rating of 96.5, the Sun rank third and fourth in the league. With Jasmine Thomas’ season-ending ACL injury, Natisha Hiedeman remains Connecticut’s top streaming option. She is available in 86% of the leagues and has averaged 17.9 fantasy points per game.

Dallas Wings

Teaira McCowan has now scored in double digits in four of her last six games. During that time, she has averaged 20.5 minutes per game and 24.5 fantasy points. McCowan is still available in 34.7% of leagues for a Wings team that ranks fifth in offensive standings (101.9).

Indiana fever

Queen Egbo is in the COVID-19 protocols but should return soon. She has averaged 20.3 fantasy points per game and is still available in 46.9% of leagues. Egbo is one of the few bright spots for a Fever team that is ranked 11th in offense (95.6) and 12th in defensive rating (107.8).

Las Vegas Aces

This season saw a fantasy basketball bonanza in the form of the Aces. A’ja Wilson recorded her 50th double-double of her career against the Liberty on Tuesday night. Only Sylvia Fowles has more since joining the league in 2018. Also, Kelsey Plum scored 20 points for the 11th time this season. The only players with more in 2022 are Kelsey Mitchell and Arike Ogunbowale. Also, Plum has a treble in 30 straight games, the longest streak in the league. Keep launching Aces players.

Sparks from Los Angeles

It was Chiney Ogwumike’s third double-double of the season against the Mystics on Tuesday night. Two of these have occurred in the past three games. Ogwumike is available in 89% of leagues. Chiney’s sister Nneka Ogwumike was inactive Tuesday due to a non-COVID illness. Chiney should see extra minutes in her absence.

Minnesota Lynx

I’m still surprised that Moriah Jefferson is available in 40.1% of the leagues. It’s great to see her career renaissance in Minnesota after being waived by the Wings earlier this year. Jefferson averages 28.2 minutes and 24.4 fantasy points per game. Now would be a good time to add them to your list.

New York freedom

On Tuesday night against the Aces, Sabrina Ionescu had her seventh game of the season with 25 points and five assists. This is the fourth highest in a single season in league history. Diana Taurasi holds the record for the most. Ionescu has now scored 43 or more fantasy points in four of their last five games. If you need a streamer look no further than Stefanie Dolson, available in 76.8% of leagues. She has averaged 19.4 fantasy points per game over her last five games.

Phoenix Mercury

Sophie Cunningham followed my recommendation in Tuesday’s betting column. She had 36 points and five steals against the Lynx. Cunningham is the only player in league history, along with Maya Moore (2014) and Cynthia Cooper (1997), to have scored 35 points and accumulated five steals in a game. It is available in 71.5% of leagues.

Seattle Storm

The Storm have scored 80 points or more in three straight games, their longest streak of the season. Seattle is 12-1 if it scores 80 points or more this season. It’s worth streaming Gabby Williams available in 67% of leagues. She has scored 19 or more fantasy points in four of her last five games.

Washington mystic

Natasha Cloud is enjoying a fantastic season. The fact that she wasn’t named an All-Star was shocking. Despite Cloud’s erratic scoring, she’s also been a consistent contributor in other stats like assists, where she leads the league with 7.2 APG. In the last six games, she has averaged 27.8 fantasy points. While Elena Delle Donne gets so much defensive attention, Cloud should end the season strong.
