Last month, the NIH awarded EcoHealth Alliance a grant of $653,392 to analyze “the potential for future emergence of bat coronaviruses in Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam”. According to the NIH, the area has been identified as “high risk for future emergence of new coronaviruses and is a potential site where SARS-CoV-2 first ‘spread’ from bats to humans.” .”
