Fernando Alonso insists it is only a matter of time before he scores good points for Alpine F1. The Spaniard showed promising pace in 2022 but only scored 2 points for France after being the victim of bad luck.

Alonso insists the start of the 2022 season has been one of his best in 10 years. The driver scored two points in Bahrain’s season opener, but has since been beaten by the DNFs at Jeddah and Imola, and finished outside the top 10 due to a penalty at the 2022 Miami GP.

“Of course, yes, good and bad. But, over 23 races, it made up, so I think I’m out of bad luck.”
The driver believes he is qualified for 2022, hailing it as his best start to a season in about 10 years. The 40-year-old went on to say:
“Obviously it feels a bit strange to have two points in the championship, after I’ve had my best start to the season in terms of competitiveness in the last 10 years, possibly since 2012. I haven’t been competitive. like what I felt the first time. four races. I think we were extremely unlucky with some of the events that happened. “
Martin Brundle claims Fernando Alonso had a ‘clumsy and angry race’ in Miami
Martin Brundle, a television expert on F1 drivers, insists Fernando Alonso had a forgettable afternoon in Miami. The Spaniard finished the race in P9 but was later demoted to P11 after receiving a five-second penalty for allegedly taking time off track during his battle with Haas’ Mick Schumacher. Brundle reckons the 40-year-old was frustrated throughout the race, leading to his two incidents, the other being with Pierre Gasly.
Regarding Alonso’s comments about his bad luck so far in 2022, Brundle also believes the Spaniard’s lack of results is the cause of his apparent frustration in new season. Write in his column for Sports skythe British stated:
“Fernando Alonso had an angry and clumsy race to forget, make contact on a couple of occasions and get penalties for both and cut the track to finish. He is carrying a lot of frustration as this season moves on at a fast pace but has only two points along with his name from the first race of the season. ”
Alonso will compete at home in the upcoming 2022 Spanish Championship against Alpine in the hopes of picking up two points from both drivers.
