Fetty Wap Gets Sentencing Date For Cocaine Trafficking Case

Fetty Wap has finally gotten a sentencing date for his drug trafficking conviction.

According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, Fetty Wap will be sentenced on January 18, 2023.

In August, the rapper pleaded guilty to drug conspiracy charges and now faces up to five years in prison.

He was arrested last October on charges of being part of a drug ring that smuggled heroin, fentanyl and other drugs into the New York City area. Fetty pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess controlled substances. If he had not entered into a plea deal and been found guilty, he would have faced life imprisonment.

“I made arrangements with other people to distribute cocaine,” he told the judge. “I knew the behavior was illegal.”

“The drug pipeline in this investigation ran thousands of miles from the west coast to the communities around here and contributed to the addiction and overdose epidemic we’ve seen time and again that is tearing people’s lives apart,” he said Deputy FBI Director. Prosecution Michael J. Driscoll said at the time. “The fact that we arrested a chart-topping performer and a law enforcement officer as part of the conspiracy shows how heinous the drug trade has become. I want to commend the work of our Long Island Gang Task Force and our law enforcement partners in working every day to get these deadly drugs off our streets.”
