Firefighters battling 2-alarm fire at Jim’s Steaks on South Street in South Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Firefighters responded to a blaze with two alarms at Jim’s Steaks in South Philadelphia.

The fire broke out just after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the popular Philadelphia cheesesteak joint on the 400 block of South Street.

Chopper 6 above the scene showed smoke rising from the rear of the building.

Firefighters were seen on the second floor of the building, smashing windows as they tried to control the blaze.

Nothing is known about injuries.

A cause has not yet been determined.
