Firefighters do battle at vacant Exposition Park laundromat

Firefighters battle a blaze that broke out at a vacant laundromat in Exposition Park on Tuesday night.

Crews had launched a defensive attack on the fire near Normandie Avenue and Exposition Boulevard, according to a 7:53 p.m. warning from the Los Angeles Fire Department.

40 employees have been assigned to the fire, said Nicholas Prange, an LAFD spokesman. Firefighters took up a defensive position to protect a nearby home, Prange said.
