A NEW attraction could soon open in the UK – and it will be the tallest of its kind in the country.
There are plans to open Britain’s highest lido on the Yorkshire Moors.
There is hope that the Yorkshire Swim Works a chemical-free swimming pool with sauna and holiday cabins will be built.
There will also be a café on site, which aims to serve locally sourced ingredients.
Learning programs are also being developed at the site with the aim of conducting workshops on natural pool technology, water filtration, sustainable development and nature and wildlife.
Yorkshire Swim Works founder Caroline Kindy wants to bring a “groundbreaking community project” to Oxenhope in Yorkshire.
She told that Guardian: “We see the Yorkshire Swim Works as much more than just a safe outdoor swimming location.”
“We see it as a hub where everyone can enjoy all outdoor activities – hiking, running, biking and walking, with opportunities for biodiversity and stem cell learning.”
Earlier this month, Yorkshire Swim Works tried to buy a former water treatment site at auction, but were unsuccessful.
In an update on their Facebook page, they wrote, “We would like to announce that we have decided to look for a new location to realize the dream of a community outdoor pool with sauna and eco-lodges.”, MINT- Learning and community building can become a reality for our region.”
Yorkshire Swim Works is currently accepting proposals for the placement of the new site.
Another outdoor pool was also opened in Great Britain at the beginning of the year.
Sea Lanes Brighton is a new 50m heated pool in the middle of Brighton Beach.
