Five hotel hacks flight attendants swear by

The CABIN crew have stayed in hundreds of hotel rooms, so they know the best tips and tricks to get the most out of their accommodation.
A flight attendant used TikTok to share the hotel room hacks every vacationer should know in advance of their next trip.

Demi Bonita is a cabin crew member for KLM who regularly uploads TikTok videos to her channel demibonita.
In a recent video, she revealed the five hotel hacks that can be used by any vacationer anywhere in the world.
Instead of doing a voiceover, the young flight attendant used a series of captions to shed some light on her tips.
1. Do Not Disturb Sign.
As a first tip, she wrote: “Put the do not disturb card between the door so you can see if someone was in your room.”
Then she placed the sign between the door and the door frame and when she came back an hour later the sign had not moved.
She added: “No one was here.”
2. Hotel key card
Her second hotel hack revolved around doors – specifically hotel room card keys.
She said: “Your hotel card isn’t the only card that works. You can use any other card.”
Demi then slipped what looked like a random tourist card into the white plastic slot where guests often put their room key.
3. Curtains and hangers
The flight attendant’s third tip will be loved by anyone who needs to be immersed in complete darkness to sleep.
She wrote: “If you want your room to be completely dark in the morning with no light coming through the curtain, use a coat hook.”
In the background of the video, Demi then secured the curtain with a coat hanger that blocks the sunlight.
4. Plug
Traveling to other countries often requires packing an adapter or alternative plug, but Demi has a trick for Europeans staying in a UK hotel.
She wrote: “In the UK and forgot your world charger? If the European one doesn’t fit, there’s always one in the bathroom.”
In her hotel bathroom, Demi then filmed charging her tablet and other electrical devices with the charger usually reserved for razors.
5. Clothing
The last hack the cabin crew member shared was all about keeping her clothes fresh without having a washing machine handy.
Demi wrote: “Dry your uniform/clothes to keep them fresh.”
She then covered her clothes with a dry wash spray so they would be sold fresh for her return trip.
The video has more than 4.3 million views and has been liked by 300,000 users on the social media platform.
In the comments, some users described the hacks as “awesome” and “groundbreaking,” while others shared their own tips.
One wrote: “A warning from a hospitality worker, don’t put your credit card in there [the room key slot] because you’re very likely to forget.”
While another added, “I do all these things and they work.”

Meanwhile, another flight attendant shared the three things she always does when she sleeps in a hotel room, including a plastic bag to cover the TV remote.
Another flight attendant revealed that she never travels without a doorstop.
