Four tips on how to enjoy British bluebells and make a great value day out

ENJOY British bluebells when you can and bask in the loveliness of our most beautiful outdoor spaces.
From deer parks to woodlands, miniature gardens to coastal paths, England looks its best at this time of year.
Many places offer free admission, and while you may have to pay for parking, they’ll still get you a day’s worth.
Hooray HISTORY: Britain has a rich history – and fortunately, you don’t have to be rich to enjoy it.
For example, Hadrian’s Wall in Northumberland is a must-see and one of the best areas that costs nothing to wander is in Walltown Crags near Hexham.
This is one of the lists above British Heritageblog post “23 places to visit for free near historical sites”. You will find it at English-heritage.org.uk.

The Trust’s walled gardens at Penrose in Cornwall are free to visit.
You can also catch a glimpse of the beautiful private gardens in the days of Open Gardens, where the entrance fee goes to charity. Details can be found online at findagarden.ngs.org.uk.
Fees for some exhibits and parking may apply.
FUN FOR FAMILY: Check your local council’s website to find out about spots nearby that offer free family fun.
In Wales, Margam National Park has a herd of deer, and family-friendly attractions include an adventure playground.
While in Scotland, Callander House and Park has a Roman-themed playground in beautiful parkland.
EXCELLENT AWESOME: Exploring the shores of England is a fun and inexpensive day.
