Before that, however, the world’s most famous jockey wants to cap another great racing season by claiming his 24th Classic victory in the St. Leger on Saturday.

Dettori is hoping to emerge 10-3 winner at Arrest at Doncaster – the final Classic race of his time in the saddle.

The legendary Italian is currently on his highly publicized retirement tour, which has resulted in classical success and victories at all major festivals.

And to celebrate Dettori’s final Classic race, St Leger’s title sponsors BetFred have erected a giant 3 meter high retirement card in his honour.

Racegoers will be able to write their own tribute messages to Dettori during the meeting.

Betfred has discovered that Dettori has cost the entire bookmaking industry over £400 million in payouts in his last 23 Classic wins.

And the charismatic jockey is hoping the bookmakers will come along for another bashing on Saturday.

Placed directly in front of the weigh-in room, the retirement card takes center stage and is a fitting tribute to one of racing’s most popular stars.

Betfred boss Fred Done said: “Frankie was fantastic in racing and will leave a big hole in the weighing room when he leaves.”

“The 23 Classic winners cost us a few pounds but it was a privilege to witness the career of a legend.

“As always he will be popular with the players in the Betfred St. Leger but I would happily pay for another flying exit.”

As for what the future holds, Dettori said: “I’ll find my way again and regroup with my wife because my five children have flown the nest, so we’ll see.”

“The house is very empty at the moment, the children have to find their own lives, but I am very close to them and they often come back to the nest.”

“I’ve seen a lot of racetracks but not much else of the world, so I’d like to travel.”

“I haven’t thought too far ahead, but I know it will be a difficult time if I quit.”
