Freddie Roach fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather’s sons

Freddie Roach has agreed to the idea of ​​staging a fight between the two sons of the boxing legend and rivals Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Emmanuel ‘Jimuel’ Pacquiao Jr trained for his second amateur bout this weekend. Meanwhile, Koraun Mayweather was previously spotted training with his father.

When asked about a fight between the two young people, the Hall-of-Fame coach replied:

The multiple-time Coach of the Year awardee coached Pacquiao Jr for his second amateur bout on May 12.

The 21-year-old kicked off his boxing career successfully in March, when he won the decisive match after a tough competition.

Pacquiao and Mayweather dominated boxing for more than a decade. They fought each other in 2015 in a match known as ‘War of the Century’, which ended with ‘Money’ beating ‘PacMan’ in points.

Roach has transformed Pacquiao from the rough, undisciplined slob into the elite eighth-place world champion he is known today. Their partnership, which began in 2001, has spawned dozens of world titles and terrorized multiple weight classes.

The trainer shared with Sports Illustrated why he thinks his partnership with ‘PacMan’ has lasted for two decades. He said that unlike many other award athletes, Pacquiao lost very well.

This is further evidenced by Roach’s stay in the Philippines’ penalty area despite losses at the hands of Erik Morales, Timothy Bradley, Juan Manuel Marquez and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The lone trouble in their relationship could be the loss of Jeff Horn in 2017. After the widely controversial defeat in Australia, Roach suggested to Pacquiao, a Philippine senator during that time, need to choose between politics and boxing.
