Friends fans are divided over the bug reported by the viewer while rewatching

A “plot hole” in Friends was reported by a viewer and is dividing fans of the sitcom.
The series, created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, aired for ten seasons from 1994 to 2004 and made stars of actors such as Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer and Courteney Cox.
With a total of 236 episodes, it makes sense that viewers rewatching the series would notice inconsistencies regarding the characters and their backstories.
One person pointed out an error on Reddit in a post with the caption: “I found a plot error in Friends Because I’m a nerd who pays too much attention to TV shows.”
User Technical_Floor129 said that the error occurred in season seven, which seemed to contradict a sentence Rachel (Aniston) spoke in season five.
They said: “In S5E7, when Rachel flirts with a new neighbor, he invites her to his housewarming party, but she plays hard to get and says she thinks she’s busy. She says she’s going to a “regatta gala.” He asks her if she sails and she says “no”.
“Then, just two seasons later, S7E3, she teaches Joey how to sail because she had lessons as a teenager. So there it is. Thank you for reading. You can now return to your life.”
After the post gained traction on Reddit, some people spoke out and emphasized that this was not a continuity error, as it simply meant that Rachel wasn’t “actively sailing.”
“Just because she can sail doesn’t mean she does it at the time he demands,” one fan chimed in, explaining: “I can ride a bike, but if someone asked me if I ride a bike, I would say no.”
Others said that because Friends Because it is a sitcom, The Need for the Joke may sometimes change details previously known about the characters.

One person used the post as an opportunity to voice their own criticisms regarding the inconsistencies Friendsone related to Joey’s knowledge of Adam’s apples and another to Stephen King’s book The glow.
Lucius_Funk posted: “Joey is hiding his copy of the novel The glow in the freezer because he’s going through a scary phase. When he describes the plot to Rachel, it’s the plot of the film.”
Meanwhile, Beseiger13 wrote, “I don’t remember the episodes, but Monica introduced Phoebe to her sous chef and she didn’t know what that meant, yet she teaches Joey French in a later episode,” Reddit user Tommy Rokcbottom added adding: “Phoebe keeps talking about being a vegetarian. But she continues to eat meat throughout the series.”
In season nine, Aniston’s character appears to be replaced by a non-actor in one scene.
Aniston can currently be seen in the third season of the Apple TV+ series The Morning Show – read The IndependentYou can find the two-star rating here.
