This Morning host Alison Hammond previously appeared on a segment of the ITV show and shared her top tips for dealing with the heat.

Her first idea was simple – fill a hot water bottle with cold water or crushed ice.

It will work the opposite way, so instead of giving off heat, it will give off a refreshing chill.

The mother-of-one, 48, also suggests filling a spray bottle with water and misting herself with cool mist when you need it, while also placing a bowl of ice water in front of a fan.

The 10-minute DIY ice fan trick will help circulate cooler air, and if you don’t have ice on hand, that’s not – frozen products like vegetables and fruits work just as well.

Finally, and perhaps the most unusual cooling trick Alison shares, is to fill a sock with rice and place it in the freezer for between one and three hours.

This will create a frozen bean bag shape that can be easily applied to your body to help cool you down.

Learning from her mistakes, Nadia Sawalha, 58, shared with her followers on social media what they shouldn’t do when the temperature is so high – that is drinking.

The Loose Women star has previously talked about how hot she is so she took a large sip, “and then another” to cool down.

However, she pointed out that it didn’t work and instead, she felt nothing but sweat and intoxication.

However, she helpfully went on to share a cooling trick she did – place a wet towel over the fan to keep the air cool.
