Funk Flex apologizes to Wu-Tang Clan

Funk Flex apologized on behalf of Hot 97 to RZA and the Wu-Tang Clan for the prolonged tension.

“I WANT TO TAKE THIS TIME TO APOLOGIZE TO @RZA AND ALL @WUTANGCLAN!!! ALMOST 25 YEARS AGO, THE GROUP, ME AND HOT97 WAS AN INCOMPATIBILITY I NEVER WAS BEDNED AND I APPROPY!” Flex wrote on Instagram.

He continued, “Looking back on that total 20 years later, we will make up for the time we missed… THE WORLD’S LARGEST RAP GROUP AND THE WORLD’S LARGEST RADIO STATIONS WILL COME TOGETHER AND BRING US SOMETHING AMAZING!”

The Wu-Tang Clan were hired to headline Hot 97’s Summer Jam in 1997. They reportedly flew to the venue themselves and were supposed to perform for free, otherwise the broadcaster reportedly threatened not to play their records. On stage, Ghostface Killah yelled “F-ck Hot 97!” and the crown joined in.

Hot 97 refused to play their records for a decade.
