Gamers furious over HUGE Diablo 4 problem – and it won’t be fixed for months

DIABLO 4 was released earlier this month and received rave reviews, but players have started noticing major issues with the game.

Diablo 4 is a dungeon crawler game by Blizzard Entertainment for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5 and PS4.

It’s the fourth game in a long-running series that has been a staple of PC gaming for over 25 years as players have been drawn to it’s gritty atmosphere and addictive gameplay loop.

While the response to the game was good at first, cracks in the armor are now showing as more and more players are noticing big issues that still need to be fixed.

Players first noticed the problems with the game around its release. Diablo 4 microtransaction prices have been revealed, including horses costing up to £10 each.

Another problem surfaced when Blizzard revealed a Diablo 4 contest, which was won even before the game’s release, as players who paid for the more expensive version of the game got early access.

In the competition, players competed to reach the maximum player level in the game – level 100 – while playing in Hardcore mode, a mode that deletes your character if you die.

Hardcore mode has been the subject of much discussion since release, as players discovered that server crashes cause hardcore characters to die.

This happens regardless of whether the disruption is due to the player’s fault or the server itself, which occasionally goes down for maintenance.

This can also happen in situations beyond the player’s control, such as internet service provider issues or a power outage.

A constant internet connection is required to play Diablo 4. If the servers go down for even a second while players are using a hardcore character, the character can be killed.

Thankfully, Blizzard has a plan to fix this issue, but some players are not happy with how it will work and how long it will take for the fix to come out.

Blizzard plans to have hardcore players automatically use an Escape Scroll when disconnecting from the server so their character is safely transported to a town instead of dying.

However, Escape Scrolls are a very rare item, and some players fear that if the problem is Blizzard’s, their rare and limited scrolls will run out.

According to a developer chat stream, it could also be months before the fix is available as the current plan is to roll it out sometime in the game’s second season.

Diablo 4 Season 1 has yet to begin, but is expected to begin in mid-July and last three months.

With this schedule, it could be October before hardcore players can safely travel through the wilds without fear of having their character deleted due to a random disconnect.
