Gamers shocked as game releases could halt – find out if your favourite is affected

A HUGE announcement has caused uncertainty about the future of a number of video games.

As it progresses, delays can be expected for a number of games in development, as has been the case with TV and film.

Some popular series may experience delays due to the strikes.

Some popular series may experience delays due to the strikes.

SAG-AFTRA is an American labor union currently on strike to seek greater benefits for actors.

This includes fair remuneration for non-shooting days such as rehearsals and better pay for extras, background dancers and singers.

SAG-AFTRA is also fighting for more residual wages so the actors can continue to earn a living between projects.

Currently, the strikes are targeting television and film production, but a new statement suggests that strike action could soon affect video games as well.

While not many video games use live-action actors, some games do use voice actors and motion capture artists.

It should be noted that the strike will not affect upcoming releases, where acting work on the games has already been completed.

Should the video game actors’ strike continue, not all video games would be affected.

Ten companies were selected, many of which have Hollywood ties.

Blindlight, Formosa and Voiceworks are all companies that act as agencies and provide voice actors for various game studios.

This means that not only the major game publishers will be affected, but also a number of other triple-A games from studios.

Here’s the full list of companies SAG-AFTRA wants to include in the strikes and the games they’re working on.
