Gary Gensler Stonewalls Congress – WSJ

An administrative agency has an obligation to answer questions from Congress — even if it’s annoying. SEC Chairman Gary Gensler is acting like he’s in charge of it all.

Republicans on the Senate Banking Committee sent Mr. Gensler a letter June 15 with questions about the agency’s 490-page proposed rule requiring publicly traded companies to disclose climate risks. Companies would need to explain how government anti-carbon guidelines like the SEC’s proposal could affect their bottom line.
