Get your first look at award-winning BBC thriller Vigil, which sees the drama return for a new series

There’s nothing inferior about these exciting images from the latest series of BBC drama Vigil.
Coronation Street’s Suranne Jones starred as Police Scotland Detective Amy Silva in the first series of the submarine thriller.
The no-nonsense police officer has been tasked with investigating a mysterious death aboard a nuclear submarine.
The award-winning film Vigil attracted over 13 million viewers and also featured Line of Duty’s Martin Compston and Game of Thrones actress Rose Leslie.
And in a brand new investigation, Silva and her police colleague Kirsten Longacre are called in after several deaths at a Scottish weapons test.
In the new series, investigators examine the air force in Scotland and the Middle East. and is scheduled to hit theaters later this year.


Newly released snapshots give fans a first look at the second season, which is scheduled to be released later this year.
A shot shows Detective Silva carefully looking at what appears to be a female soldier in the driver’s seat of a car.
While another dramatic snap shows Jones’ figure with a bruised face behind a metal railing.
The dark thriller is scheduled to hit television later this year.
It comes after Vigil star Martin Compston admitted he would be scared of plunging into the depths like the underwater expert he plays in the series.
The Greenock-born actor said: “It must be such a claustrophobic job and you have to be a certain type of person, which I don’t think so.”
