“Going to report the matter to UEFA”

Javier Tebas has confirmed that he is working on taking legal action against PSG. The Spaniard claims it’s impossible for the Ligue1 side to have renewed Kylian Mbappe’s contract without FFP issues.

Mbappe has been linked with a free transfer to Real Madrid this summer but the Frenchman opted to stay at PSG instead. The move came as a shock to everyone as the forward confirmed last summer that he is keen to join the Spanish giants.

Tebas has been furious since Mbappe signed a new contract at PSG. He has now confirmed he is working with a French law firm to take action against the Ligue1 side and was quoted by Marca as saying:

“We are working with a French law firm to take legal action in France and the European Union. We will also report the matter to UEFA before Friday. It’s impossible for PSG to maintain current financial ‘fair play’. and with those who will be added with the inclusion of Mbappé. It is already known that they will violate them. Lets see what happens. Of course it’s impossible to paralyze the recording of Mbappé.”

LaLiga release statement on Mbappe’s renewal with PSG

Kylian Mbappe, who refused Real Madrid to sign up with PSG, was not well received by La Liga and the league released a statement last week.

BREAKING: LaLiga have released a statement announcing they will file a complaint against Paris Saint-Germain over Kylian Mbappe’s new contract… 👀

They weren’t happy with the news that the Frenchman won’t join the Santiago Bernabeu and the statement questioned PSG’s economic stability:

“LaLiga would like to explain that this type of agreement threatens the economic stability of European football, jeopardizes hundreds of thousands of jobs and the integrity of the sport, not only in European competitions but also in domestic leagues. It is scandalous that a clubs like PSG, which posted losses of more than 220 million euros last season after amassing losses of more than 700 million euros in previous seasons (while sponsorship earnings were reported with dubious rating), with a Kader, who cost around 650 million for this season, can sign such an agreement, while those clubs that could afford to hire the player without their payroll being affected cannot sign him. LaLiga will file a complaint against PSG with UEFA.”

Tebas made a similar statement when PSG activated Neymar’s €222m release clause.
