BALTIMORE (WJZ) – Governor Larry Hogan and First Lady Yumi Hogan received their second COVID-19 booster shot today.
Hogan and his wife have documented their immunizations to encourage eligible Marylanders to get a second booster shot “for maximum protection” against the coronavirus, according to state government employees.

Staff members said the booster shots were administered by injectors from the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC).
“If you are now eligible to receive a second booster shot, we encourage you to go out and get a dose at your local pharmacy or any of the suppliers,” says Hogan. our hundreds of suppliers statewide. “An important part of learning to live with the virus is using common sense and taking the right precautions in our daily lives.”

A second round of booster shots for Marylanders age 50 and older at least four months after their first booster shot. In addition, anyone 12 years of age or older with moderate or severe immunodeficiency can be vaccinated, staff said.
Those who have not yet had their first booster shot can do so if they have completed their primary series of COVID-19 shots, staff said. All Maryland students 12 years of age and older may receive their first booster shot.
Maryland recently expand its services at the State Center Immunization and Trial Site in Baltimore to include Free on-site consultations and treatment options for COVID-19.

The initiative expands on the federal Trial for Treatment model, which is being adopted by pharmacies and urgent care centers across Maryland, according to state government employees.
