GRANT COUNTY, Wash. — Wildfire is prompting Level 3 evacuations for some areas of Grant County near Soap Lake, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO).

A level 3 evacuation means people should leave the area immediately.

Stage 3 evacuations are scheduled for the 21000 block of D.5 Northeast Street, the area of ​​D.5 Northeast and 20.6 Northeast Streets, the area of ​​D.5 Northeast and 20.7 Northeast, and east of Soap Lake.

Level 2 evacuations are scheduled for Adrian Road south of State Route 28. A Level 2 evacuation means people will be asked to leave the area voluntarily, but those who remain should be ready to leave immediately.

SR 28 is closed immediately east of the intersection with State Route 17 and Soap Lake due to active fire on both sides of the road, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

GCSO advised people to follow their social media pages for information on accommodation. Those with pets are asked to bring a leash and a crate or cage for their animals. Red Cross shelters do not accept pets.
