Although the organization is much less powerful than it was five years ago, the NRA still occupies an important place in American politics. Republicans regularly brag about the scores they get from the gun association.
On Tuesday, the United States experienced an unbelievably tragic incident when 14 elementary school students and a teacher were killed in Uvalde, Texas. Incidentally, some of Texas’ most prominent Republicans are scheduled to speak at an NRA convention later this week.
Rebekah Entraigo Fernandez, from Inequality.org tweeted on Tuesday, “Greg Abbott is scheduled to speak at the NRA conference in Houston *this Friday* alongside Ted Cruz, John Cornyn, Dan Crenshaw and Trump.”

It seems like a political suicide for any man to keep their talking engagement, none of whom are necessarily self-aware.
