Gwen Stefani reveals her gender to Norwalk fans at concert

Count on “Just a Girl” singer Gwen Stefani to announce she’s expecting a daughter — just like an expectant Norwalk mom just did.
The Grammy-winning “Sweet Escape” singer helped fan Vanessa Venegas and her loved ones learn she’s expecting a baby girl during Stefani’s concert at the Honda Center in Anaheim over the weekend. A Instagram video The radio station KOST-103.5 FM shared it on Sunday and remembered this moment.
Stefani wears a sparkling silver ensemble; accepted the letter and said: “I’ve never done this before.” As fans cheered, the singer knelt on stage to open the envelope and joked: “[Is] Is it like a long note or something?”
After Stefani took a quick look at the piece of paper, she smiled and stood up. “Just a girl,” she shouted to her fans.
“Are you serious? You didn’t know?” the Voice personality added.
Venegas’ gender reveal came about with the help of KOST and veteran radio host Ellen K COSTVenegas called the station on September 1st and shared her plans to attend Stefani’s Saturday concert.
“I’m ready to reveal the gender of my baby, and my idea is for my idol, Gwen Stefani, to reveal the gender,” she told Ellen K. “And I need your help to get her attention.”
Ellen K immediately said that she and her team were “on board” with the plan and began planning how Stefani would find out the baby’s gender. “We’re on your team, we’re going to try to get this done, Vanessa,” the host said. The KOST team has clearly delivered.
Saturday’s concert wasn’t just significant for Venegas, as Stefani celebrated the “incredible show in her hometown” on a Sunday Instagram Post Office. The Anaheim-raised singer shared a video of her time on stage as she rehearsed and performed in front of the venue’s packed audience.
“We’ve built love and memories together for decades and to have the opportunity to share that with you for the 9th time at @hondacenter was nothing short of a dream,” she captioned the video.
Stefani’s performance helped the Honda Center celebrate its 30th anniversary. The venue returned the singer’s love Instagram, remembering the Saturday concert as the “BEST”. 30TH BIRTHDAY. PARTY. ALWAYS.”
“So much love for our hometown girl @gwenstefani, our hard-working team and the incredible fans who made this evening an unforgettable experience,” the arena’s post reads. “ANAHEIM! Let’s keep dancing for the next thirty years. #HondaCenter30”
