Here’s what we know so far

The American survival competition series from Netflix Survive returns with new episodes. Survive Season 2 was officially confirmed on May 15, 2023, and the first season performed exceptionally well for the streaming service, debuting at #6 on Netflix’s weekly Global Top 10 TV list and reaching the top 10 in 27 countries .

Sixteen “lone wolves” are abandoned in the Alaskan wilderness while fighting to win $1 million. The only rule in the game is that you have to be part of a team to win. Easier said than done when your entire personality is geared toward being fiercely independent.

In the first season Survive quickly garnered widespread attention as viewers saw several team members ready to get down and dirty with their competitors, sabotaging them by stealing supplies and sleeping bags, forcing some people to sleep in sub-zero temperatures with limited resources.

At least one contestant, Jill Ashok, could go down in history as one of the greatest reality TV villains of all time, at least on Netflix. It will be interesting to see how Survive Season 2 ups the ante.

Survive Executive Producers are Jason Bateman, Michael Costigan and Emma Ho of Aggregate Films, Grant Kahler of Nomad Entertainment and showrunner Mike Odair.

When is Outlast season 2 coming out on Netflix?

The first season of Survive premiered on March 10, 2023, so it’s unlikely we’ll see another season until late 2023 or 2024 at the earliest. Netflix hasn’t specified when the series will return, but since it’s a reality competition, filming shouldn’t take long and it likely won’t be affected by the ongoing writers’ strike.

The first season was filmed in Alaska in the fall of 2021. That said, it took almost two years for the series to hit our TV screens, but now that it’s aired and Netflix has renewed it, there should be a faster turnaround time between seasons 1 and season 2.

Where will Outlast season 2 be filmed?

Season 1 took place in the Alaskan wilderness, but there’s no reason Season 2 needs to take place there as well. Perhaps next time the contestants will have to survive in a place that is extremely hot and not freezing cold. But for now, we can assume they’ll be returning to the same area in season one, although I think it might be more compelling if they go somewhere else.

Are you glad Netflix has been renewed? Survive? What are you hoping to see? Survive Season 2?
