Maison Hermès is back in New York and ready for business. After eight years of planning, the French luxury label opened its biggest store ever: a 20,250-square-foot luxury boutique at 706 Madison Avenue, five-story airy, upper garden fully equipped terrace and bar. To celebrate, the house has turned an entire four blocks on the Upper East Side into a fascinating street fair, which is incorporated into a piece of ornamentation that is part lavish musical theater, part mural. love letters sent to New York City — and spread out in four different locations.
