Higher rain chances later this week

Tampa, Fla. (WFLA) – Strong sea winds off the Gulf of Mexico put our chance of rain at just 10% this afternoon. A few showers that form will quickly push toward the east coast and away from our community.

That bay breeze also adds moisture to the atmosphere. The highest reached above the 80s, but when you factor in the humidity, it should look like the mid-90s low this afternoon.

Similar conditions will prevail on Wednesday and Thursday with the possibility of light rain, mainly inland areas, and highs near 90 degrees.

The big change comes on Friday as tropical humidity spreads out from the Caribbean. The chance of rain increases to 50% on Friday afternoon, and some downpours are possible. The high will remain in the upper 80s.

Turns out and showers are expected all day on Saturday. Chances of rain are 70%. Additional rain and clouds continued at high levels into the mid-1980s. Tropical humidity persists for about next week, so the chance of rain remains high.

In fact, this could move us out of the dry season and into the rainy season that runs through October.
