Hollywood Farmers Market closed due to person throwing items

The Hollywood Farmers Market was closed on Sunday as Los Angeles police dealt with someone who threw items from an apartment where they may have been barricaded.

There were no immediate reports of injuries, but police turned customers away to the market while they dealt with the standoff.

The Hollywood Farmers Market said its vendors and employees are safe. Police said the standoff took place at the 1600 block of Cosmo Street.

“We are glad that our employees and suppliers are doing well,” the market said on Facebook. “If you need access to fresh food and produce and are able to travel please visit our sibling Atwater Village Farmers’ Market.”
