Next games, Oct. 26: Ajax vs Liverpool, Napoli vs Rangers

Naples: Have qualified and will win the group if they beat Liverpool’s matchday 6 result.

Liverpool: Will advance to the round of 16 with a win/draw against Ajax.

Ajax Amsterdam: Must win at home against Liverpool to stay in contention.

Ranger: Eliminated from the Champions League and with only an outsider’s chance of entering the Europa League after losing 4-0 to Ajax in a head-to-head duel.

Next games, Oct. 26: Atletico Madrid versus Bayer Leverkusen, Club Brugge versus FC Porto

Club Brugge: Have qualified and will lead the group with a home win/draw v Porto.

FC Porto: Will qualify with a win at Club Brugge if Atletico Madrid draw/lose against Bayern Leverkusen. Two draws for Porto won’t be enough if Atletico beat Leverkusen.

Atletico Madrid: Two wins guarantee entry into the round of 16. A win and a draw is enough for Atletico even if Porto draw/lose against Club Brugge.

Bayer Leverkusen: Two wins are enough if FC Porto draws/loses both games. Bayer Leverkusen also qualify with a win over Atletico and a draw against Club Brugge if FC Porto lose both remaining games. If Porto lose to Atletico and draw against Club Brugge, Atletico, Bayer Leverkusen and FC Porto will be left with seven points and the standings would be decided on head-to-head goal difference.

Next games, Oct. 26: Barcelona vs Bayern Munich, Inter Milan vs Viktoria Pilsen

Bayern Munich: Have qualified and will lead the group with a win against Barcelona, or if Inter draws/loses against Viktoria Pilsen.

Inter Milan: Is in the round of 16 with a win over Viktoria Pilsen. A draw is also enough if Barcelona draw/lose against Bayern.

Barcelona: A home win against Bayern Munich gives them the most realistic chance of reaching the knockout rounds, but even that will depend on Inter’s draw/loss against Viktoria Pilsen as Inter are level against Barca. Barca would still struggle with a draw on Matchday 5 if Inter lost to Viktoria Pilsen. Barca are eliminated if they lose to Bayern Munich.

Victoria Pilsen: Have been eliminated from the Champions League and would almost certainly need to win both remaining games to stand a chance of finishing over Barcelona to drop into the Europa League.

Next games, Oct. 26: Tottenham vs Sporting CP, Eintracht Frankfurt vs Marseille

Tottenham Hotspur: Qualifies with a home win over Sporting CP.

Marseilles: Qualifies with an away win at Eintracht Frankfurt in a neck-and-neck race against Sporting.

Sporty CP: Had controlled the group before losing both games against Marseille and will now only stay in contention if they win/draw at Spurs or Marseille draw/lose at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Eintracht Frankfurt: Need to win/draw vs Marseille at home to have hope for Matchday 6.

Next games, Oct. 25: FC Salzburg vs. Chelsea, Dinamo Zagreb vs. AC Milan

Chelsea: Qualifies with a win at FC Salzburg, two draws are also enough.

Salzburg FC: Will be through with a home win against Chelsea as long as AC Milan don’t beat Dinamo Zagreb.

AC Milan: Eliminate if they lose to Dinamo Zagreb and FC Salzburg win to Chelsea. Their main hope is that Salzburg fail to beat Chelsea, which would lead to a possible final-day qualifying clash between the two sides at the San Siro – regardless of Milan’s result on October 25.

Dynamo Zagreb: Still very competitive although they will be eliminated by a loss to Milan next time Chelsea win/tie.

Next games, Oct. 25: Celtic vs Shakhtar Donetsk, RB Leipzig vs Real Madrid

Real Madrid: Have qualified for the round of 16 and will win the group with a win/draw against Leipzig.

RB Leipzig: Hold second place but they have to host Madrid in two weeks. Shakhtar vs. Leipzig on matchday 6 seems to be the key game at the moment. Will progress if they beat Madrid and Shakhtar lose to Celtic.

Shakhtar Donetsk: Hoping for a win in the next game in Scotland and going into the final group game second.

Celtic: Are eliminated from the Champions League and need to win both remaining games to have a chance at Europa League football.

Next games, Oct. 25: Borussia Dortmund vs. Manchester City, Sevilla vs. FC Copenhagen

Manchester City: Qualify and secure the group victory next time with a win/draw at Borussia Dortmund.

Borussia Dortmund: Need two points to safely qualify but will progress regardless of their own result against Man City if Sevilla-Copenhagen are drawn.

Seville: Must win both remaining games and hope Dortmund lose both.

FC Copenhagen: Must win both remaining games and hope Dortmund lose both, or if Dortmund draws against Man City, Copenhagen must beat Dortmund by at least three goals to equal or beat the neck-and-neck race with the Bundesliga club.

Next games, Oct. 25: Benfica vs Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain vs Maccabi Haifa

Paris St Germain: Needs two points to guarantee progression, although a draw against Maccabi Haifa will suffice if Juventus draws/loses against Benfica.

Benfica: Also need two points to secure a place in the round of 16 and like PSG can go to a draw next time if Maccabi Haifa draw/lose.

Juventus: Need to win both remaining games and hope either Benfica or PSG drop points in their other game. If PSG or Benfica draw their other game, it would amount to a head-to-head record between the teams. If both PSG and Benfica draw their other game, a head-to-head mini-league ensues between the three teams.

Maccabi Haifa: Got exactly the same qualifying scenario as Juve. How every team can reach knockout rounds
