How to Delete All Emails on Your iPhone

Is your iPhone inbox full of messages? Follow these steps to delete all your emails in one go.

The Mail app on your iPhone keeps all your emails in one place. No matter how many accounts you have, it allows you to check them all in one app. The downside to this, however, is that your Mail inbox can fill up extremely quickly when too many accounts are feeding it.

If you’re wondering how to delete all emails in the Mail app on your iPhone, this guide will show you how.

Use Select All to delete all emails in the message

If you want to delete all email from every account in the Mail app, just follow these steps. First, open Letters application. Then choose All Inbox. This will open all the emails you receive on your iPhone from all your accounts.

To select all your emails, tap Edit > Select All. When you select all your emails, you will see Garbage in the bottom right corner. Tapping this will delete all selected emails.

If you’re using an IMAP email account, deleting them on your iPhone will also delete them from the mail server.

How to delete all emails from just one account

What if only one email account is filling your inbox? For some reason, Apple doesn’t let you use Select All to transfer email from an account. But as a workaround, you can follow these instructions to send all your messages to the Junk folder at once. Doing this too often, though, may cause the Mail app to automatically send messages from some of those senders as spam in the future.

Instead of selecting All Inboxes in the instructions above, select a specific account or inbox. Then navigate to Edit > Select All. At the bottom of the screen, tap Bookmark > Go to Trash. If you’re looking to free up space, you should also navigate to your junk folder and delete the emails there. You can also delete email accounts from your iPhone.
