If not, they may give advice that is old advice. Or that advice may not be backed up with results and experience.

To choose the right career coach, check their background, credentials, and results. You need someone who’s been in the game and has verifiable experience.

One thing you can do is join a discovery call to get a feel for the career coach. You want to have the vibe and energy of the people you’ll be working with one on one.

Your career is personal, and you will have vulnerable moments with your career coach. You want to make sure you can trust them.

Make sure your career coach is paying attention. They must be professional by arriving to meetings on time and paying attention during the call.

Make sure they don’t take you outside your comfort zone with their suggested strategies.”

In the career coaching industry, some coaches offer guarantees. You should proceed with caution when you see a reassurance as many circumstances are beyond a career coach’s control.

If a career coach has testimonials and reviews, make sure to follow some of them to see if they are real and that the career coach works hard for their clients. You should not expect a guarantee of results, but you can expect a guarantee of good service.
