How to get tickets for Joni Mitchell’s concert with Carlile

If anyone can bring the legendary Joni Mitchell back to the stage, it’s Brandi Carlile.

The singer-songwriter announced on The Daily Show Wednesday that she and Mitchell will be performing at the Gorge Amphitheater in George, Washington next summer. The announcement comes a few months after Mitchell stunned and delighted fans when he shared the stage with Carlile at this year’s Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island.

Prior to that magical moment, the Canadian-American musician hadn’t sung in front of a live audience in about two decades.

“After Newport, Joni said, ‘I want to do another show.’ She said, ‘I want to play again,'” Carlile told outgoing Daily Show host Trevor Noah.

“We thought about it and decided on a venue. … It is one of the most beautiful venues in the world.”

Carlile and Mitchell will co-headline a two-part concert event entitled Echoes Through the Canyon. Carlile will play at the Gorge on June 9th, followed by Mitchell on June 10th.

“No one has been able to buy a ticket to see Joni Mitchell play for 20 years,” Carlile continued.

“So that’s huge. And she’s so excited because it’s close to Canada and some of her Canadian friends. … I can’t believe it’s happening, but it’s happening and she’s going to crush it.”

Tickets for “Echoes Through the Canyon” will go to the general public on October 28, according to LiveNation. Fans can also sign up for pre-sale offers starting October 27th.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times this month, Carlile gushed about performing with Mitchell at the Newport Folk Festival and opened up about how staying at the 78-year-old music icon’s home inspired her latest album, In the Canyon Haze. ”

“If you think what she did [at the Newport Folk Festival] was wondrous, you just have to know it was even more wondrous as we had no idea it was going to happen until it did,” Carlile told the Times.

Speaking to The Daily Show, she explained, “We thought it was going to be a jam. Little did we know that she would be singing all the leads on these songs. She just started singing … and we didn’t know if to stop or what to do.”

“She completely took over the show and became the performer we all know she is,” added Carlile.

“We didn’t sleep that night. We stayed up until the sun came up and just loved what happened. … Joni loves to perform and she is great at it. She’s just as good at it as ever.” How to get tickets for Joni Mitchell’s concert with Carlile
