How to get your TikTok account unbanned

Accounts get banned on TikTok frequently, and you might have been one of them – here’s everything you need to know to try to unban your account.

One of the biggest social media platforms out there, TikTok is a hub for a huge range of viral content, from dances to recipes, trends and more.

Thousands of influencers have also started their careers here, and millions of people around the world have created their own accounts to follow and interact with these creators and publish their own content.

However, like any other social media platform, there is also a chance that your account on TikTok can get banned if you don’t follow the community guidelines, which cover things like hateful behavior and dangerous acts.

If you’ve been permanently banned, here’s what you need to know to try to recover your account.

How to Unblock TikTok

If you’ve been banned from TikTok, you have an option to appeal, which could give you a chance to get your account back. You’ll know you’ve been banned because you’ll get a banner notification the next time you open the app.

To file an appeal, do the following:

  1. begin tick tock
  2. open that notification about your ban.
  3. click ‘Appeal.’
  4. follow that on-screen instructions.

Filing an appeal does not guarantee your account will be unbanned, but if TikTok decides that your account should be reinstated, it will be reinstated.
